some plants are very sensitive to chemicals in the water, such as floride, chlorine and salts as in soft water..... your best bet is to water those sensitive plants *those that have brown tips now* with filtered water... or rain water.... my Lucky Bamboo is one that is really touchy about the water I use on it.... most Dracaena plants are..... others that are are palms and those with thin flat leaves, rather than thick succulent type leaves....

Over watering, underwatering, or being to close to a heat vent are all things that can cause a long-leaved plant to dry at the tips. The plant is not still giving energy to the dead parts.
To make the plant look better without cutting off the leaves, just take a sharp pair of scissors and trim off the dead tips, on a diagonal, so it is not obvious. It will not hurt the plant and it will look much better.

brown tips of leaves are caused by either too much or too little watering only, check if the potting mix is wet enough by sticking your finger in the mix and if it sticks to your finger, the mix is damp enough. most people over water indoor plants

Potted plants are prone to salt build-up in the soil. When you water be sure you water enough so that the water runs thru the soil and flushes out the salt.

You are probably watering them too much at once. You need to try to water them little bits at a time. Over watering them can cause you to wait longer causing the soil to dry out.

this is normal for indoor plants. especially if it is in the fall or winter months. They need all the sun light they can get, and don't over water them. Most people over water house plants.

You could try just misting the ends of the leaves, providing you are giving them enough water but not overwatering. Don't mist plants with furry leaves.

Inconsistant watering causes browning on leaves. Trim dead parts for aesthetic reasons.
