There was a pen in one of the shirts in my laundry. The damage wasn't too bad. I'm soaking the stains now in dishwashing detergent. Is there something better to use, or a particular detergent that will work ?

What is the general term for this and what is the best way to fix it?

It happens every now and then when i open the back of an electrical appliance to repair something, Then upon reattaching it, you find that some screws won't tighten up.

I don't know if this is wear and tear of the screws, or just misalignment.

how much fluid are you supposed to allow out of the radiator when you bleed it? I know they say you should only let out the air then do it up again but there doesn't seem to be any air escaping, just a stream of water.

Do you have any tips how I can preserve my begonias during the holiday season? I am going away for 12 days, then back for 3 then away again for 8. I give them about 250ml of water every 2nd day and they are indoors. Do you think they will still be alive when I come back or should I rather leave them with a friend?

Alright, so I'm finally moving out of my parent's house. No, I'm not a teenager, I'm in my mid 20s, so its about time!

I need any advice you can give me! (I have a job, so that isn't a problem!!!). What bills do you consider most important? What kinds of things should I stock my pantry with (like flour, vinegar, sugar, etc.) what are some basics you can't live without (Like your favorite kitchen appliance or tool), what do you wish someone would have told you before you moved out?

Thanks!

I bought a hydraulic stool and of course it came in a box and it has instructions, but not clear ones, so can you help me decide if I assembled the 2 metal washers and the nut in correct order?
One of the little dinky washers is flat and and the 2nd little washer in the picture is rounded and is a little smaller than the 1st one.
I put the screw in the hole, then put the flat washer over the screw then I put the little dinky one on next and then put the nut on. Am I going in the right order or should the little dinky one come 1st.
This is not a joke. I am trying to assemble a stool to put next to my new utility table. Why dont they do a better job in the instruction manual. They didnt even show a picture. Am I putting them in the right order?

Suppose you have to service a fluorescent light fixture in an office. However, you can't turn off the circut as that would shut down power to other areas of the office, which people don't want to happen. Could you do things such as replacing the ballast or a cracked socket. I would imagine that you couldn't do this. If I'm right, how could someone repair a fluorescent light fixture of the kind you find in offices and buildings. Is there a way to unplug it like you can with the ones you commonly find in people's basements?

Ok,I have a water heater (runs off kerosene) that seems to need reseting almost daily. I had the oil company send a guy over and replace a part Monday. I had hot water for about 5-6 hours then it was back to being warm at best. I went down in the basement and hit the reset button on the water heater and everything was ok again. By the time this is read I'll probably be making my way down cellar to reset it again. Any ideas what could be causing this pain in the *** issue?

I am making a pool side table with a beaded top. I need to cover the beads with a clear resin. I have checked Envirotex lite & Klear Kote that they use on bars, both say not to use outside. The UV rays will yellow them. There has to be somehting to put on an ouside table top that won't yellow or amber with age. Both the Fiberglass boat shops & the Envirotex Co. sent me to the bar top people. Has anyone made anything like this & used a clear resin on it?

I have a 'Lifesaver' smoke detector and I live in an apartment building of about 30 apartments. The model number is 1275. It is hard wired as well as battery operated. Earlier, I set the alarm off from cooking and quickly took the battery out of it. When I did so, I had to take the detector out of the celing to get the battery out. But now, it's hanging by the wires from the ceiling. there are 3 wires, a Red one, Black, and White. The red wire seems to have come out of the ceiling and is attached at one end to the smoke detector, but is just sticking strait up in the air. The black and white are connected to the ceiling as well as the detector, and are in good shape. I put the battery back in my detector and it';s now chirping every minute or so..I know it's because of this red wire hanging out of the wall when it's supposed to be in the ceiling.

Do I need an electrician to fix this? Or can I do it myself? I want to know how to fix the red wire without getting electricuted.

Whenever my girlfriend comes to visit or vice versa, it is cramped to sleep in a twin bed. I'm just looking for some kind of product that would be able to temporarily make my bed larger during the times she's here. We have some storage room in our room, so if it could be folded or stored easily that would be ideal.
