There was a pen in one of the shirts in my laundry. The damage wasn't too bad. I'm soaking the stains now in dishwashing detergent. Is there something better to use, or a particular detergent that will work ?

Use hairspray - spray it directly on your shirt where it's stained - then wash it. Never put water on your shirt after an ink stain.

The good ole' fashion home remedy of hairspray. I have done it a few times. It works.

the product (ooops) works great Ive used it on my children's clothes and it always comes out even permanent ink!
