I checked my icicle lights and they all worked. When I hung them on the house (I plugged in 3 strands like the box said I could) the end of each strand was not lit. Only a partial of each strand was burned out. How can fix or what am I doing wrong? My house looks like crap!

When was soap invented? What did people do before that? Why can't we just wash off with water? If I'm a germ on somebody's hand and I'm put under a spicket of running water, don't you think I would fall off the hand?

Anything I wash in my washer that has white on it is turning brown. It is a smaller trailer and no room to put a unit inside. Is there any units that can be used under the trailer. Or one that is small enough to fit in a closet. Or anything I can add to my laundry load to prevent the staining. I am desperate as it looks like we will be staying here for a long time.

My main panel doesn't have neutral/ground bars big enough to accept #4. So, rather that adding a lug nut to the bars, or only attaching a few strands of the #4 to the bars, I'm thinking of snaking another #10 awg (neutral) and #8 awg (ground) into this greenfield. Is it possible and ok to do this? I'll leave the extra 2 #4 wires in case I'd like more amperage to the subpanel one day. Any ideas?

There's too much snow drifted against the gate for me to get it open and the shovel is in the back yard. I can get out the front door, but can't get into the garage because the electric button is in the car! Help!

Purchasing a carport large enough for my 30 ft. camper is out of the question right now.

I need some very creative minds to give me ideas for cheap and sturdy (but not ugly) shade, especially over the roof. I know, this is a tough one, but thanks to anyone who can come up with a good solution.

Ten points to the best idea of course!

Our home is only 12 years old and I have noticed that a few of the bedrooms are cold and drafty while others are not. In the summer, the same rooms that are cold in winter, are hotter than others even with the air conditioner on. What is the problem and how can I fix it?

i have a low clearance (6'-6") and a stacked stone foundation. I want to frame out walls and paint the exposed underside of the above floor and floor joists. Anybody ever do this or have any good tips to help. Obviously it needs to be as moisture reisitant as possible, but there have not been any significant water problems in the basement.

Any suggestions? I can't really go outside and use the hairdryer on the line(my dad's suggestion), b/c I can't leave my 2 yr old in the house alone, which is sick with ear infections. What can I do from inside the house?

It cuckoo's just fine, but the pendulum won't swing back and forth to keep the time going. The weights are pulled all the way to the top. ANyone know how to fix the pendulum? Thanks :)
