There's too much snow drifted against the gate for me to get it open and the shovel is in the back yard. I can get out the front door, but can't get into the garage because the electric button is in the car! Help!

Take your hair dryer and unfreeze the back door!

Wow. I'd say this calls for a SNOW DAY!!! Where are you at? I'd love to see some snow!!! It is going to be about 55 or 60 degrees here today, rather chilly. It just doesn't seem like Christmas with the sun shining and trees blooming. I'm in the lower part of Oklahoma, near Texas. We didn't get any of the ice or snow!!! We miss all the fun stuff!!
I'd take a SNOW DAY!!! And do fun stuff around the house!!!
Enjoy yourself, do things you like!!!
Make a snow man or at least a snow ball and take pictures so the rest of us can enjoy it!!!
Have fun!!!

Umm, this seems like something you'll just want to ride out, but if you really need to get out of your house maybe try taking a pot or just your hands to try and dig out the area by the gate. Think hard about any other ways to get into the garage, or maybe try getting someone to come and pick you up at your house. If none of those work, then get a blanket and watch a couple of movies, settle down and try to relax! Good luck!

I doubt very much that the 75 does not have a keyhole! If you have chrome handles with a sort of oblong button at one end that you push in, one of the 2 front ones will have a pull off cover and a key hole underneath it. How to stop it in future, leave it unlocked, a 2001 Rover 75 is highly unlikely to get stolen it is not the sort of car that attracts joy riders and does not have enough value for the theft for profit mob.

I agree take the hair dryer and unfreeze the door. In the future plan ahead for when bad things might happen to you.

You could stand at the back door and use your heat vision to get it open. Sorry, I tried...
