NO, NO!
Wool is "Piece Dyed", meaning, it is dyed after the fact. Like many nylons, they are dyed after being extruded.
Compare to a radish. The dye is on the surface, even though it has penetrated to a shallow depth. Bleach will destroy the color in those nylons, and wools.
Some, more expensive nylons, which are labeled as such, are "Solution" dyed. They are dyed while in a solution state. Compare to jello. The color is all they way through, like a carrot.
Polypropylene is also dyed this way. Those fibers cannot be dyed in a solid state. They will not absorb dyes after extrusion. This makes them difficult to stain also.
Mild bleach will not damage the fiber or color, BUT, bleach will eventually disintegrate the latex in the backing.
Heat, even sunlight, will alter the color in any man made fiber.
Some carpets are blended with two fibers, like Nylon/Polypropelene, Nylon/Polyester, or other blends.
