In all actuality..people over water tomato plants..this is why you see alot that the tomatos crack on them..Water it extremely heavy right before you leave..if it is outside in the direct sun..drape a sheet or a makeshift shade coverage over it..tomato plants should actually not be watered untill you see the edges of the leaves slightly turning ..in extreme heat this could be every day..but not always..I grow all kinds of veggies is my source..here is a few pictures..here is a link that i copied the following photo from concerning overwatering..
Over-watering can bring on disease and prevent fruit set, so it's important to keep track of how much and how often you water. Between you and Mother Nature, your tomatoes should get 1 inch of water a week. In a heat wave, I increase the amount to 1 1/2 inches. Also, the amount of water needed may increase as the season wears on and the tomato plants grow in size and begin to bear fruit. Tomatoes are deep-rooted plants so the soil should be moist to a depth of at least 6 inches. If in doubt, plunge a shovel in the ground and check it. A wilted tomato plant in the heat of the day does not necessarily indicate a need for water, so check the soil before you douse the plant.
It's better for the tomatoes to receive one or two deep waterings weekly rather then a light daily shower. Light watering encourages shallow roots, making the plants more susceptible to drought.

This is how I water my plants when away from home. I put them in the bathtub fill up a milk jug with water put a piece of "COTTON" string inside the jug so it reaches all the way to the bottom then put the other end of string
just under the soil of the plant. make sure the jug sits higher than the plant for gravity. If the plant is large put 2 or 3 stings in it. I've left for 10 days with this method.

Get a plastic bag and use it to cover the soil around the root. That will help keep the soil wet and also wheneve the soil vaporize it will make drops of water (just like rain) and will help the plant self water until you come back.

Slightly Ghetto but it gets the job done while away: 1. Get a 2-Liter bottle and thoroughly clean it. Punch a small hole in the cap about the size of penny nail. Fill the bottle with water then screw the cap on tightly. 2. Thoroughly water your plants. Almost saturate them. 3. Invert the bottle pushing the cap and nozzle of the bottle into dirt. The water will slowly release into the soil over several days.

what country are you in? Are you in a warm country? If so, I would say no, it will not survive a week. Tomato plants need lots of water. Do you have a neighbour who can water it?

for a week it will be ok.. if you lived in a flat, the best place to place the plant is the sink in your kitchen. and if you can put a wet towel and leave it on the plat pot it will help to keep the soil moist.

Water it really heavily before you leave, really soak it. That's about all you can do.
