Alright, so I'm finally moving out of my parent's house. No, I'm not a teenager, I'm in my mid 20s, so its about time!

I need any advice you can give me! (I have a job, so that isn't a problem!!!). What bills do you consider most important? What kinds of things should I stock my pantry with (like flour, vinegar, sugar, etc.) what are some basics you can't live without (Like your favorite kitchen appliance or tool), what do you wish someone would have told you before you moved out?

Thanks!

Don't overbuy -- you can always run out to store later and get something, but if you buy a bunch of stuff you don't need, it'll stay in your pantry forever.

Check out Flylady.net for housekeeping tips -- that is always my biggest problem. Also, there's an excellent book by Cheryl Mendelsohn called "Home Comforts" which tells you everything you need to know to take care of your home. I think there's even a good pantry section in there.

You will need cleaning supplies when you move in. Get a vacuum (used ones are often a good bargain, and you can get a better one later), rags for windows, rags for floors, a toilet brush, rags or sponges for each sink, and the cleaning powder/soap/etc. that you like best.

Linens: Two bath towels, two hand towels (per bathroom), two washclothes. Two kitchen towels. You might consider an apron. Two sets of bed sheets per bed. Depending on how cold it is, blankets and comforters.

Oh, and be sure to have a house-warming party! People might bring you useful gifts, and it's just fun to have a lot of people over. And since it's for your new home, they won't mind if you are still entertaining with paper plates and plastic forks.

OOOOHHHH! Trash bags. Absolute must. The first box you should unpack should have: trash bags, toliet paper, a bar or bottle of hand soap, paper kitchen towels (like Brawny or something heavy duty), dish soap and reg. towels for the bathroom and kitchen. And a sponge for the kitchen. And the phone book.

Plan to order-in for your first night there -- research ahead of time to find out where you'll order from.

And it's a good idea to make labels for each box -- say which room it should go into, and put a brief description of each box on it. This will make unpacking easier.

Good luck, and have fun!

WATER AND ELECTRICITY BILL is the most important. Check your mothers pantry out and make a list of the things you think she has that you will need. a broom, vacuum cleaner, pail, mop, duster is important. so is an iron and ironing board, washing machine, kettle, toaster. Buy salt and pepper, butter, bread, cheese, tomatoes and milk, tea, sugar and coffee. at least then you can have toasted cheese and tomatoe and a cup of tea. Good luck you will quickly cope!

The first thing you need to do is to NOT start a question with "alright, so"
