How to kill potato bugs:
Materials: Bucket of soapy water, infested plant

Squash it (the larva are especially fun to squash as they are so soft and squishable)
They are also fun to feed to both chickens and fish, just pick and toss.
Hand picking is a very effective method of control if done daily. I grow several acres of crops for market and I hand pick the PB's from my eggplant and peppers (they don't tend to get on the potato plants for some reason even though they are generally planted in the same area as the peppers and eggplant).
I also have used row covers very successfully for keeping PB off the plants

With your fingers! Seriously, I used to have a nasty infestation in my potato patch, and read (30 years ago) that squishing them on site, on the potato foliage, deters other potato bugs from establishing themselves there! It seemed to mitigate the problem.

sprinkle burnt wood ashes on the leaves and they will won't eat any more. you can also take hot peppers and boil them and when it is cool. spray this on your potato plant

well if you touch them with your hand they roll up in a ball... depending on where you have them at you could pick them up & put them outside, but if they are in your garden there should be some kind of powder you can buy to kill them (like you would for slugs)
