i tried alsorts of stuff, ie, flea bombs, sprays powders.even brought a flea trap but it has cought nothing.
i have read alsorts of stuff on how to get rid of them. some i have tried others have yet to try, i'm currently trying the table salt method, i read about borax but cant seem to get any in englands supermarkets. I now have a 3 month old child so dont want to bombard my home with chemicals again if i can help it, i have done that before and still have the pests, HELP!!

my modular home has deep burgundy carpets in main parts of the house, the bedrooms are in the rust color. the kitchen has burgundy on the counter sides with white counter top, but the floor is a neutral color. Please help me with some ideas for color for the rooms. I have a Quill color from Glidden paint picked out for the living room, which is picking up some of the color from the stone fireplace. I don't want the same color in all the rooms, so please help me find some good colors that will match throughout my home. Right now it is all white !!

Ok so I'm really pretty and I love mirrors...I have a lot of them in my house, all over. I've even paid to have my closet doors redone as mirrors.

I noticed one day when I was look at the back of a mirror that it looks like there is just blackish paint on it, and if you scrape it off with your fingernail then it's regular glass.

So last night I was thinking...if you just painted the outside of your windows black would they become mirrored on the inside? Or is there a special kind of paint you must use?

If anyone could help me figure out how to make all my windows mirrors I'd be so so happy!

Will extending my chimney on my hunter log burner help me with problems of poor lighting/ staying lit/ low output? The flue is installed straight up through a flat roof using lined sections, has one of those draught improver cowls and is about 2M above the roof giving an overall length of 3.5-4M. It works better in the wind, there is good ventilation in the room (upwind side). You seem to need to use wood that is rediculously dry to light it/keep it going (even slightly damp newspaper wont burn). It has always been a problem from new and my other burner is EASY, so it isn't me - this one is in an area with a loft above it though so flue is much longer and indoors for about 6M beforehand! There is no apparent problem with downdraught, it just wont BURN lol. Please help me it is getting cold now! You even have to race to light the newspaper in 3 places and close the door before they start going out!!

Okay, so I have asked a few questions on here about getting my christmas cactus to bloom. Well, I had it outside this summer as our summers are nice and I put it in the shade. The plant was growing like crazy, little pink leaves were sprouting but still no flower. So, I heard about putting it in total darkness and I did, I put it in the closet. Well I had it in there about a week and I checked AND I have a bloom. It hasn't opened yet, but my question was should I start watering it now or putting it out of the shade? Or just leave it? I can't wait to see it!!!

I went into the kitchen to clean up the cupboards inside and out.
I have way to many dishes, glasses, and cups. (one can not have enough bowls lol)
I want to down size but not so much that I feel I need to buy more later.
So, for a household of one adult and one teen living at home what do I need to keep?
My older two sons do visit. and I do have holiday dishes that I will keep.
But 34 glasses is nuts.
Major pack rat...HELP!!!!!!

I'm purchasing a home (closing on it in 5 days), and I would like to know what is the easiest way to get rid of/kill english ivy? It's covering aprox 1/2 of the front yard. . . and its UGLY! Just to give you some background info. . . this house is a flip, and it will be back for sale by april/may 2008. With that said this is something i need to take care of ASAP (doing the outdoor landscaping hopefully before the first snowfall). Is there something that would work good to kill this or should i just by pass that and dig it out? I've never had to deal with this before, and any suggestions would help.

I have a 3.5hp Petrol Lawn mower, which is about 10 years old but still works well - when I can actually start it without causing myself an injury. The starter pull-cord will sometimes snatch back and recoil so hard it almost breaks my wrist. If I am brave enough to perservere, once it does start its OK for a while, but then when I am least expecting it, following a stop to empty, it does it again. I'm almost getting afraid of it now. What is causing this and is there a quick fix, other than a new mower?

The windows in my apartment are vertical sliding and it seems that most ac's are for horizontal windows. We are only allowed to have window ac's, not portable or wall units. Does anyone know what's out there for vertical sliding windows? I've searched a little but I'm confused!

There is an older natural gas fireplace in the room, and I also have a new radiator looking filled electric heater. Which would be cheaper and more efficient to use to heat the 14 by 14 sunroom? I won't be heating it all the time, just when it will be in use? OR would it be cheaper to just leave the door open between the sunroom and house, and let the forced air from the furnace make it's way out there?

I have all the wall colors picked out I just can't decide on the ceilings. Everyone gives me a different opinion when I ask. Some say same as the walls, others say go one shade lighter but same color as walls, and others say WHITE. I'm have a light tan color in the kitchen so I am thinking that the ceiling could be the same since it is a lighter color. But the other rooms are a dark brown, a medium brown and a green what do I do there?

The light switch in my bedroom doesn't seem to control anything. We have tried lights on the top and bottom of each socket and can't seem to see where the switch runs to. The actual switch has wires connected to it. Does anyone know how to trace it?
