I am on a very fixed budget, so always look to fix with pennies spent. I have an 18 year old pet door and the plastic flap is torn off. I figure I can get a thick piece of plastic and use like duct tape to tape it on, of course the frame iS fine BUT I ALSO HAVE TO CONSIDER HEAT LOSS AS I WANT IT FOR THE PETS 24X7.

When i turn my kenmore water heat past "Hot" to "A" or "B" the pressure drainage runs water almost constantly. I am guessing that the pressure value is bad but don't know for sure. Just wondering if someone did know about it then i.

Thanks,

Brad

I bought a rotisserie oven online; it was a great bargain, but it arrived with minimal instructions, and a pair of heat-resistant, long silicone gloves, for lifting food off the spit. I then rinse them with boiling water & add them to the dishwasher at 50 degrees. I think they are sterile - but they look grubby, and stained.

I regularly put running shoes through the washing machine, at 40 degrees, with detergent. Do you think that I should try that with these gloves?

There's no online deal to replace them or to buy a spare pair, and I have planned a Halloween party based on the oven. Should I risk it? My neighbour tried once to wash oven gloves & they got shredded!?

...well, I was filling in cracks, got the stuff ALL OVER my fingers and hands...it dried....now, I can't get the stuff off. I've been pulling pieces of it off...with my skin....I've tried soaking and scrubbing in hot/soapy water, cold/soapy water, paint thinner, mineral spirits, goo gone stuff, acetone finger nail polish etc....does anyone have any other ideas????? I know it will eventually wear off, but, that will take weeks or longer, I don't have the long!!!!

Tidying my bedroom..... UUURGGGH!

Oddly enough, I don't mind tidying the kitchen/other rooms (Even the loo's not that bad)... I guess it's because the kitchen and the bathroom NEED tyding for hygiene reasons whereas the bedroom technically doesn't (IMO)

I have a dehumidifier in my basement. I have to empty the water at least two times a day. Is there something I can do with the water, other than pour it down the drain?

We have a side by side fridge with a water and ice maker. The water is clogged somehow and unable to come out. How can we open up the inside of the freezer door to access the water system?
And does anybody know what could be clogging it?

It's a Dimplex CXL heater (convector/storage combination). I turned on the convector heating function for some instant heat. It gave off a strong burning smell that's still lingering in my room.

On the positive side, it does release heat and my room is still warm even though I turned off the heater after just 5 seconds.

So I'm wondering if the smell signifies there's something really wrong with the heater... and if I'll die in bed tonight from gas poisoning or something (or should I check into a hotel for the night?) -__-

In case you're wondering, it's freezing here in Scotland.

we have central air in our bi level home (home built in 1996). Our dryer is a GE and is about a year old, not worn at all -- anyway, our electric dryer will not work anymore! it seems like when we turn on the central air the dryer stops heating up. now, today we didn't have the air on at all but the dryer got warm but won't dry our clothes or get hot enough to. What is going on? thanks.
