I have a dehumidifier in my basement. I have to empty the water at least two times a day. Is there something I can do with the water, other than pour it down the drain?

It is basically distilled water. You can use it anywhere you would use distilled water like in your iron. It could also be used to water plants or even wash with. In other words, just about anything you want except drink it (distilled water is not good for you to drink).

It's distilled water (no minerals like regular tap water). Good for your iron, for topping off car batteries, for mixing 50/50 antifreeze mixture for your car, and for making your own laptop screen cleaner when you mix it with isopropyl alchoho..... though you can buy a gallon at the supermarket pretty cheap.

You won't need so save much, though, so most of it you should just pour down the drain. Lacking minerals, I am not sure how good it is for plants.

pretty much anything you want. The water is the same as distilled water (some impurities from the dehumidifier). It is probably better than your tap water

Unless there is some kind of filter for that water on the dehumidifier and, I have never seen one on any dehumidifier I have ever seen, that water is the product of the air your breathing, the waste in the air, the smells, the gases and the wastes in the air, I wouldn't want to use it for anything other then flushing it down to toilet.

We water our plants with it. It is essentially pure water because it has been evaporated and the impurities have been evaporated out.
