I have a mug that is white on the inside. Unfortunately it's stained from leftover tea and what not. I miss the pretty white color my mug used to be. Are there any products I can use (safely) to get the stain out? I've scrubbed and scrubbed but I haven't really gotten it to come out.

Any tips would be helpful!

I have a wall mounted fixture that trips the breaker every time I put a bulb in a specific socket. I've checked the socket for debris, rewired the fixture, and double checked the ground. Bulbs are side by side the one on the left works fine, the one on the right makes a definitive pop and trips the breaker when a bulb is put in.

My lawnmower is working perfectly fine, except that it won't start. Nothing seems weird; I checked the gas, filter, oil, and the blades to see if anything is messed up, but everything is normal. We kept our lawnmowers outside for a week (it rained that week), so I think that them getting wet might be the problem. One of them is an automatic pus mower and the other is a normal push mower (I guess now-a-days automatic is normal...).

I have to spray paint a certain styrofoam sculpture for a friend but the thing is I'm gonna be using automotive acrylic and we all know that would melt styrofoam. Now I heard there's something you could apply to the styrofoam first which would prevent it from melting when spraypainted on.

Btw, I'm sticking to automotive acrylic and telling me to use another kind of paint is out of the question.

I have a house that was built in 1870. One of the rooms needs to have the joists replaced; the floor is in bad shape they are warped and badly bowed. The problem is the old joists are 14” tall and 2 ½” wide, if I replace them with standard 2x12s the floor won’t come out to the right height. Same problem if I buy I joist from the local home center. I am afraid the cost to special order them would be prohibitively expensive.

Could I rip a 2x6 in half, rip OSB to the proper size, then use an expanding glue like gorilla glue to assemble everything; making sure it is well clamped?

Would this be strong enough to meet building codes? Where can I find span tables to make sure?

I'm wondering when I should start planting tulip bulbs, when should I harvest by vegtables and anything else I should do to prepare my garden for fall and winter. This is one of my first years as a gardner so any tips would be appreciated!

Fireplace was originally intended for wood but has a gas burning kit installed. I have seen gas fixtures that can be used to get a wood fire started, so it seems that this should be fine to use the installed gas fixture to do this, right? Or is there a special fixture that is required to burn either wood or gas or just serve as a gas starter for wood fires.

The manual says to "prime the pump" by putting your hand over it for 15 seconds. I do and get a squirt of water and then it quits. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I've found a design that I would like to make into a mural on one of my bedroom walls (unsure of actual size but it's not a very large wall) however I don't know how to enlarge the image to put it on the wall. I'm a hopeless drawer so doing it by hand won't work. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

The Gas Co. said there is a leak somewhere under the house & they turned the gas off. This is a rental house I own. We just went all electric in it last year but that is too expensive so I need to go back to gas & get a new furnace. But how do I run down a leak with the gas off & do you have any alternative ideas on heating a rental house? Thank you.

Hi, I am on tight fixed budget and I want to know what I should look for when checking out the efficiency of my water heater. I live in Or where it gets down to about 30's most winter nights. My water heater is in the garage. I live alone. age 56, so I don't use much and with kids grown and gone now, I have to try and re-think things. Should i get a smaller one or buy a jacket to cover it or what can I do to keep gas costs down> I know I bought it within the last 8-10 years or less ???? help for dino 56 :)
