With all due respect it might depend on your definition of "Interesting" IE: in a historical sense.

Certainly as a piece of furniture they might be decorative/ coordinate with other pieces/ have storage space; but in essence they are/were a place to rest ones feet and lower legs before the advent of recliners. Personally I use a cardboard box.

As an heirloom one might have sentimental value attached; but historically speaking they will eventually go the way of the Crank Telephone.
