It starts up, but the engine dies when I leave the clutch out. It seems to happen everytime it sits for a while. Last time, I just fiddled with it until it worked. I have no clue what made it go. Any help?

I have a 2 foot long two tube fluorescent fixture that doesn't light immediately when turned on.

Any where from a couple of minutes to 20 or so after you turn it on both tubes suddenly light up.

No sign of blackness on ends of tubes.

I'm thinking ballast. Am I right?

Hi, we have a slimline Beko DE2431FW dishwasher, approx 18 months old. It seems to have 'froze,' there is no water going in to it, the button lights up as though it is washing, it sounds like it normally does before it starts washing but nothing happens? Any ideas anyone? Does it sound like a simple thing or do we need a new one? Its not blocked or anything like that and its been like it a couple of days now.........

I have two very large and hardy plants. Those extra root things catch dead leaves and debris and make the plant bottoms look snakey and ugly. I see similar plants in other peoples' yards and I don't know if theirs are just a variety that doesn't make those, or if they've removed them. I have removed some of them with no obvious detrimental effects, but I'm afraid to just scalp them like I'd like to.

My home office is in my basement, along with one bathroom. The air is musty and stale. The area is relatively tiny. Would it be a good idea to add 1-2 surface mounted fans bringing in air from the outside, and one exhaust fan?

I am looking for ventilation on a budget. Heat exchange is not necessary.

I recently put a few pieces of sheetrock together to create a shack. Insulation and everything is fine, but I'm looking for a cheap solution to make the concrete floor walkable.

What are the basic steps to tile it? Is that the best solution? I do not want a carpet or a rug. It is about 20'x20'

Sponges carry the most bacteria out of anything in your kitchen or bathroom, I read once.... so why do we clean with them? Can't I use paper towels instead?

I am building a potting bench outside, and would like to put in a sink. Can I use a stainless steel sink outside, or does it need to be plastic or resin? Where can I find one? I definitely don't want one of those plastic portable potting benches you can buy at Home Depot or Lowe's. What types of material are exceptable for outdoor use that will be exposed to sun, rain, etc.? It won't be in a covered area.

Tending my garden is my favorite hobby, but many of my plants have been killed because people in the neighborhood have decided my garden is a dog park. I'm at my wits end and don't understand why people would be so rude to let their dogs destroy my garden. There is no grass, just flowers. A fence is not effective because anything big and solid enough to keep the dogs and their urine out would defeat the purpose of having a garden and make it very difficult to tend. I can't sit at my window all day asking people to please take their dogs elsewhere. Please help.
