Tending my garden is my favorite hobby, but many of my plants have been killed because people in the neighborhood have decided my garden is a dog park. I'm at my wits end and don't understand why people would be so rude to let their dogs destroy my garden. There is no grass, just flowers. A fence is not effective because anything big and solid enough to keep the dogs and their urine out would defeat the purpose of having a garden and make it very difficult to tend. I can't sit at my window all day asking people to please take their dogs elsewhere. Please help.

There is nothing any of us can do.

A fence is the only way to keep dogs off and out of your gardens.

Check these PVC fences, no need to paint ever:

If you have a farm supply, or similar, store near you, check to see what they have. Because of a cat-over-the-gate problem here, I purchased an electronic device that emits a high-pitched sound when the beam is broken. It is battery operated and has both the stake to set it on and "teardrop" holes for attaching it to something with screws.

It works!!! In fact, it works so well that one day when I was heading toward the gate holding my cat, he went nuts trying to get away before I realized why - good memory, him.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work with dogs as well though you might need to set it a bit higher. Mine is called CatStop manufactured by ConTech. You could probably find many similar things on-line.

Good luck.

Some people are just jerks and we end paying for their bad behavior. Fence the property. Too bad electric fences aren't allowed in cities like they are here in the country, TeeHee!

I've been told spreading moth balls throughout the garden will repell dogs. Also try sprinkling hot pepper around. Lemon peels might also work as most dogs don't like lemons.

regrettably, the urine is absorbed via grass leaves and delivered to the muse the place the plant is then killed. turn over the soil interior the affected area and sow with new grass seed. I even have tried countless canine repellants interior the previous with little or no fulfillment and ended up fencing the area in to keep away from canine get right of entry to.

You have my symphony. Once one dog lifts it's leg all the rest will follow. You can try pepper dust, but it is a constant battle the rain washes it away. Good luck.
