My home office is in my basement, along with one bathroom. The air is musty and stale. The area is relatively tiny. Would it be a good idea to add 1-2 surface mounted fans bringing in air from the outside, and one exhaust fan?

I am looking for ventilation on a budget. Heat exchange is not necessary.

In my Basement I have a Dehumidifier that removes the Moisture and Damp, Musty Smell in it. It works great and I just have to empty it once a day. You can buy a Dehumidifier for $70. at Wal-mart..

One exhaust fan placed opposite a outside air vent would work fine. Calculate the size of the area and get a fan that will provide 2 to 4 air changes an hour. You might also consider a dehumidifier if the area is damp to help with the musty smell.

If you've got a bathroom, how is it ventilated?
Most codes require either a window or exhaust fan in there.
If a window, put in a fan there.
Only one intake vent required.

Hi, You may want to consider a de-humidifier and maybe just one fan. Too much outside air can add cost to heating and cooling.
