I was interested in moving some bushes and trees I have from my front yard to my backyard and then buying some new bushes to plant to create a privacy wall in my front yard. Is it too late in the season to do this? I'm afraid to do it if there is a risk all the bushes I buy will die and I will lose all that money which I can't afford. Am I better of waiting till next spring or can it also be done in the fall?
Thanks in advance!

I have a ceiling fan that has been mounted on the celing for years, I'd say about 20. Now I turned the lights off and came back into the room only to find that none of the lights turn on(there are four). But, when I go and turn the fan on with the pulldown rope it turns on. So I kept on tugging down the rope for the light, but no luck. Is their a fuse blown or something like that. What's your input.

I am moving into an apartment. My furniture is a mocha color. The walls are a light blue and in good shape. I'm trying to move in fast and quick and wait to do majority of the painting until I have time in a couple of months. Should I be embarrassed because the colors don't really go??? Any suggestions of what I can do to make it go together a bit better?

Just need to know about fan lights combos for bathrooms, can you wire it so that the light can be turned on separately from the vent. Doesn’t makes sense to me to turn on the light if you just need to turn in the fan ex. during the day.

Do packages delivered though regular US Postal Services (say from amazon.com) come in a truck sent especially for that package?

Also, does this truck usually come earlier or later than usual mail delivery?

We are moving into a house that has old appliances e.g. dishwasher, stand alone range, and fridge. We are going to install Brazilian Cherry hardwood flooring and wonder if this should be installed before or after we buy the new appliances?
If we need to do install floors first, who can I call to un-install the old appliances and haul them away? THanks!

They said that the a/c system outside was tired out and that they were going to replace the compressor and with it came a new themostat. Does this mean that I am getting a new a/c unit outside? Mine right now is like ancient. My apt does not cool down at all and is humid. Also, earlier today I set my thermostat at 80 bc I left. I returned 8 hrs later and my a/c had been running ALL DAY and my thermostat said it was 78?! I have a clock that also tells the temp and its under a fan in my living room...It said that it was 86 degrees. I told maintanance and thats when they came and looked at it again (yesterday they cleaned it out). They said they were going to replace the thermostat but after looking at it again they said the compressor too. I dont know anything about this stuff. Will replacing the compressor help? Is the compressor the big unit outside?

This just makes no sense to me. Maybe for baking...but still kind of unsure...

I just don't get why there is a vent coming out of my oven that just seems to let the heat escape right out...(It has even melted plastic on me a couple of times). In my last apartment, there was a hole/vent under the back left burner that let heat out. In this one, it is right in the rear center.

Can I cover these up with something? What is the point????

I just moved into a new apt and noticed that my water pressure in my shower is horrible. My bf lives in the same complex (diff. apt) and has awesome water pressure. I switched out my showerhead when I moved in but took out the flow restricter. I don't think that it is the new showerhead though, bc when I turn the water on, it first goes into the tub until I pull the thing to make it come out of the showerheead. Even then, it is not very powerful. I have thick hair and if I have to live like this for a year...AHH!! It will take me forever to shower!!!!! The water pressure at my sink in the br and kitchen is fine, which confuses me.

I'm about to purchase a house that has a radon control system in place. The owner tested it in 2003, after the system was installed, and the level was 0.6 (very good). I just had another test done as part of my home inspection, and the levels came back as 1.7 / 2.0 (from two basement locations). I know this is still quite under the 4.0 level of "acceptability," but my concern is the three-fold increase over the last 4 years. Could it continue to increase at this rate? If so, is it a matter of getting a bigger & better system? It's a small house (950 ft2) and the inspector's opinion was that it's a good system for a house that size. (If it had been 2.0 from the start, I wouldn't feel concerned, but the increase has me worried.) Any experiences or knowledge of this would be welcomed - Thank you!

My wife and I just bought a home that has carpet in every single room...including the front porch. The underside of the porch shows that it is concret underneath the carpet. What's the best way to remove the carpet...it's old, it's moldy and gross to walk on when it rains. I'd like to get rid of this stuff as quickly and cleanly as possible, any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
