You can try opening the air duct dampers wider upstairs and closing them more downstairs. Do it step by step and keep an eye on the temperatures. It will not be perfect because the upstairs tends to have more heat gain but it will be close if you work on it for a while.

That is the free technique. The faster more expensive approach is to hire an A/C company to "balance" the air flows for even temperature. It will take them a few hours so expect to pay a few hundred dollars.

What approximately including a fan to the duct artwork upstairs so it is going to draw the cool air up above the upstairs rooms. chilly air is heavier then warm air and with the funace interior the basement you opt for a real solid fan to push those cfm's that's why they are looking that A/C instruments artwork less complicated in attic places, however the different draw back is water draining from the unit. I rather have seen some that brought about some great water injury reason the over stick to wasn't put in maximum suitable. yet i'd attempt to function some duct followers and spot in the event that they may be set as much as a T-stat so as that as quickly as the better rooms attain a set temp the followers will kick in to make up the version via drawing the cool air as much as the precise floor, the different ingredient is to ascertain the return air stick to from upstairs if the furance isn't pulling the room air from the better rooms you won't manage to stress greater air into the gap. So possibly in case you examine into those it might help solid success

Usually you can find flow controls in the vents along the basement ceiling. In theory, you can restrict the flow to the first floor and then more cool air will be directed upstairs. But you might have to use the crude "pile of newspapers" on the downstairs vents!
