now that most peoples lives have become more sedentary, shouldnt we encourage people to exercise more by creating outdoor running tracks and little mini-parks to exercise in?

by minipark, i mean something like a landscaped park only scaled down so you can dot them around all over a large city so people have one to go to that theyre no more than a mile away from.

they could incorporate a running track for the fit &or energetic...but also have a boundary that older& less energetic people [and pet owners?] can use as a "strolling park" with beautiful planted areas.

Or is it the same.I want to put down linoleum for the kitchen floor.Does it matter if I use vinyl ? I hear it might bubble up, or linoleum is better for moistured areas.Of course I would use a whole roll, instead of putting one sticky tile at a time.

My sister is getting married to her long term boyfriend and they already have a lovely home...they love gardening and have a gorgeous garden...I thought that a tree would be nice as it can grow with their relationship...what is a nice one, perhaps one which has romantic connotations...?

For the first time, I own a garden!! So Im pretty much a novice. I have a flower bed, full of shrubs and weeds that needs to be emptied so i can lay a path and more grass. The earth is really, really stoney. Id prefer to do it myself, rather than get a professional in - partly because of cost but also because id rather do it myself if possible. Please can someone tell me the easiest way to clear out the flower bed, or is it a case of hard labour digging it all up? Also, when it is finally clear, can i just lay the paving slabs onto the earth, or do i need to put something down first? Any help and advice appreciated, thank you.

I have 2 Hunter cieling fans in my house that I installed and they are the same models. I'm not sure of the model number. Either way one is on one end of the house and the other is on the opposite end. When I control one fan with the remote, the other fan does the opposite function.(i.e. turn light on in room 1, light in room 2 goes off etc.)
Its not a big pronlem but when people are in both rooms its really annoying. How can I fix this without having to buy a new fan? Thanks.

I was trying to remove the pop-up from the bath tub when both brass screws or bolt heads snap off. The stem is sticking out and can easily be grabbed however the stem/screw will not budge. The screw is to small to drill. I used various lubricates to loosen it but that didn't work. would heat and lubricate work? or what else can I try??

My girlfriend and I constantly bicker. She insists on leaving it around 77+ degrees in the house (why are women constantly cold?), while I'd prefer just to always leave the switch on 69-72 degrees. She says at that temperate it costs too much to run, and our bill will be a lot higher. So, what is the actual costs of running the unit? And is it better to leave it on one constant temperature?

I am planning to clean my kitchen tomorrow. What I am confused about is how to clean the exterior of cupboard doors. They are made of laminated wood and over time, there is a very slight layer of grease in some places especially the cupboard door near the gas. So any ideas??

We have recently moved into our first home. There are hundreds of little little tiny flies around our front door. Around our back door and in our backyard we have the big house flies everywhere. There are a few beetles around also. But I am so frustrated with stupid bugs! We have an exterminator come, but they don't do the outside. Does anyone know of good products to buy to get rid of them? Or any other effective methods? PLEASE HELP ME KILL THE STUPID BUGS! :)

I have an ikea futon This is the pic
http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/S29817421

We were stupid enough to spend a lot on it.. And spent extra on the futon mattress too which is so thin that i folded it and used it only on the seating part.. and a attached a double folded comforter to the back to support the back..
But even now , this stupid futon lets out a horrible creak when anyone sits on it.. My Friend says its just bcecause its wood, as i paid a professional a lot of money to assemble it correctly..
I cant afford a new sofa or anthing right now.. Can someone please help me by telling me how to stop the creaking? Its so embarrasing when people visit and sit on it!..
Its assembled correctly.. And this futon model is a sofa bed too , so its higher in front and lower at back.. please look at the website pic and details

Especially regarding growing such in pots. Also, I know these plants are tropical but if anyone has any suggestions about growing these in a cooler climate that would be fantastic.
