I am curious to see how many people deem it necessary to mow their lawns more than once a week, and why.

I don't see the point in mowing it more than twice a month, but that doesn't mater. Please tell me if you or anyone you know mow more than once a week.

I recently put a Japanese paper lantern in my room, and now, every time I turn the light on, there are soft, dull, thudding/tapping/knocking noises. The taps come at irregular times, and don't always sound the same. The sounds also come when the light is off, but most of the time, they come when the light's on.
I've decided that it can't be somebody outside, because the taps have come in broad daylight, when one of my parents was outside. Besides that, the tapping sounds seem to be coming from the ceiling, or the lantern.
I'm curious to know what the sounds are.

i just dropped a new 17.5hp engine into my tractor. all the mechanical stuff is hooked up and i just need to attach all the electrical. i got the ground wires attached, but im not sure where the other 4 wire go. my fault for not marking them before i disconnected them..... i need a diagram that shows where everything plugs in.

if i plug something into the wrong place, will anything bad happen, or nothing at all? i have an electronic carb, if that makes a difference.

The reason I ask is every time I get a clog and a plunger doesn't work, I try a drain opener, and every single time, over the last 3 decades, they've failed.

So my question is, has anyone ever actually had a clog opened by one of these products?

I was out gardening today when I came across a bug that looked like it was from another planet lol.

It looked like a cross between a hornet, an ant and a roach. It was similar to a large bettle shape like a roach, but it rounded a bit like a hornet, head & legs were more ant like. It was 2-3 inches long with large vibrant reddish orange/black stripes. I couldn't tell if it had wings or not (I didn't want to get too close) but I don't think it did. I have found several of them by the wall of my house & would sure like to know what the heck they are if anybody has any wild guesses on this lol :) Thanks!

ok so the area we live in ( we rent a 2 bd apt) is really nice however the upkeep of the inside dont get much attention ( the spend every bit of their time making the outside and landscape perfect). and about a month ago my DH and i and a few neighbors notice that the stairs were pulling away from the wall . so we made many calls to the office to ask for someone to fix them and they never did. well one day our neighbors were comming home ( they are not small people niether are we) and the husband fell throught the stairs! it broke completely and he fell to the ground. well then they had a maintenance man come fix them and he just put a couple of boards under the step to fix it. however now those are comming out of the wall and the stairs are starting to rock again when you step on them and i am very fearful that i being pregnant and carrying maddy will fall throught the steps and so i call again about a week ago to report it and no one has come out to look at them again. so does anyone have any suggestions on how to get them too take my concern about the steps and actually do something about it and not just put a bandaid and to have them fix it for good. and do i have any right as a renter to ask for an inspector to come out and look at it ?

The floor is uneven and too poor a quality to sand. I don't know how to install vinyl sheeting and thought perhaps a paint like material would work.

I have tons of bags with miscellaneous belongings in them. & they're those cheap dollar plaid plastic bags with the zipper. Most of the bags have holes in them or broken zippers, & the stuff is basically falling out, which basically makes the closet look kinda junky. So do you think I should take everything out the bags, group them together, & organize them neatly & throw the bags away or just leave everything in the bags?

The wooden letters come from Michaels or some other craft store and you spell out a child's name usually to put in their room on the wall. I want to decorate them in some way instead of leaving them as the plain white wood. I need ideas for this. Are there sites out there with ideas for this project?

We have an expanse of (wooden/privacy) fence in the back yard and would like to build a gate a little less than half the width of one panel of fencing. The fence is not brand new. Can we just cut the panel in half and add a post and hardware? Anyone have any step by step instructions / advice / direction? Also, what tools will we need and can this be accomplished in a weekend?

I went to dry my clothes, and nothing.
When turned on the motor humms like it wants to turn but doesn't. When i took it appart, got the drum and belt off, i tried again to cycle it and again the motor hummed as if it wanted to turn but didn't. Could this be as simple as replacing the motor, or am i missing something easier?
