The wooden letters come from Michaels or some other craft store and you spell out a child's name usually to put in their room on the wall. I want to decorate them in some way instead of leaving them as the plain white wood. I need ideas for this. Are there sites out there with ideas for this project?

DIY DOC is right...you don't need a website to tell you how to do this. But you can always try a search for crafts...there's all kinds of crafting sites and books. One really neat way would be to let the kids decorate the letters...craft stores have an abundance of different things to decorate just about anything. Another great idea for kids rooms is to use chalk board paint. We just painted a 9" wide stripe all the way around my 16 yr old daughter's room and everyone, young and old, loves it. It runs about $20/quart and we only needed one quart to go around the entire 12x12 room. Just be sure to teach that only the black can be colored on! ;-))

also try different types of patterened scrapbook paper. use an emery board to sand along edges then tear, easier than trying to trace/cut exactly. You could paint or stain first or leave it natural. Coordinate the paper to the room.
