How do I clean the carburator or empty oil?

Did it start smoking before or after you add oil? First check the oil level with the dip stick. If if is above the full mark drain some out. On most there is a plug on the bottom side of the engine. Remove the sparkplug wire and tip the mower, air filter up and remove the drain plug. There will be about a quart of oil. Put the plug back in and fill it to the full mark with new oil. Next remove and clean the air filter. If it is a paper filter and has oil on it replace it. Without the airfilter in place start the engine and let it run until the smoke clears up.

You may have added too much oil, this could cause excessive smoking. If this is the case just remove some of the oil. If this does not fix the problem it is the piston rings and you need to take it to a small engine repair shop.

Clean the carburator, that is usually the culprit in many cases.

First thing, Clean the spark plug.
If it was smoking , the plug is probably all coated with carbon.

I would put a new filter in it,or wash the one in there reallly good.sometimes you have water in the gas tank, you should drain it and let it dry out completely. Then fill.also replace sparkplug.
