I'm in the same boat as you are, so glad you asked this question. My neighbor mows his grass at least once (probably twice) a week!! I think it's crazy....I swear there is nothing there to mow.

Mow your lawn once a week between 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 inches depending on the type of seed. You should try to mow your lawn north to south then east to west on a rotating basis.

Once a week should be adequate unless one has been doing some fertilizing or there has been lots of rain. Mowing 3 times a week is most unnecessary and could cause some stress to the lawn depending on the type of turf.

We only mow once every 7-14 days with normal rain fall, and once every 7 days with high rain fall. No one I know mows more often than this. Mind you , at present I have so little grass on my rocky land that I would love to have an excuse to mow twice per week.

Not me.
Unless the grass grows 4 inches right after I finish mowing.(Not likely) It's not good for the grass to mow too close to the dirt, better roots system and less weeds when cut no less than 3.5 inches.
Depending on the amount of rain you're getting, maybe. Otherwise, seek professional help. You may have some kind of compulsive disorder. Or you have your own baseball team, or your own golf course.

Not usually, however with all the rain we have been getting, yes, I have had to mow at least twice a week :( But, usually it is only once every week, or every other week if I can get away with that,LOL!

Scotts recommends cutting the grass no shorter than 3". I don't like to let it get over 6" tall, sometimes in the spring I cut it 2X a week, during the summer drought only once a month.
If you live in Alaska, you may have to cut the grass every 48 hours during the summer month.
