You have no electricity.

You enjoy a daily "spa" treatment by greasing up your hands with vaseline, putting them in rubber gloves, then washing the dishes in the HOTTEST water available.

I'm sorry, I'm out of reasons. A good dishwasher will save water, get your dishes cleaner and sanitize them in about an hour.

I thought I didn't need a dishwasher, but after seeing how our 30 and 40-year-old plates SPARKLED after three runs through the dishwasher, I'm a believer.

Oh, I've got another reason, though. All the plates and silverware that you own are not dishwasher safe. In which case, handwashing is the better option. Just be sure to wash them WELL. Home Comforts by Cheryl Mendelson outlines the procedures for washing dishes well.

I always have a dishwasher, but my mother-in-law always said that I don't need one.
1) She would said that dishwasher does not wash the dishes clean enough.
2) She would say you always have to rinse the dirty dishes in the sink before putting it in, you may as well wash them clean.
3) She would also say that with a family of four, I never have enough dishes after each meal to fill up the dishwasher for a full load wash.
4) She said if you just stack up the dishwasher with dirty dishes after each meal for few days until it is full, you would be attracting the ants to go after the dirty dishes in it.
I disagreed with every point shae made:
1) The jets in the dishwasher are so strong that it does a much better job than hand wash.
2) With a small family, I actually wash the dishes in the sink after each meal, but then I put the wet dishes in the dishwasher just to rinse and dry them. This way it will not attract ants.
Everything works!

I do not have a dishwasher. There are only two of us living in my home, and it would take a few days to fill a dishwasher. It is much easier to wash the daily dishes by hand ..... and it takes less time and less water and less electric and gas (water heater)!

1. Dishwashers do a better job killing germs. Some doctors think this is one reason children have more allergies - they were not exposed to germs and did not build up antibodies.
2. Washing dishes is a good chore for kids. It teaches them responsibilities.
3. Soaking your hands in dishwater promotes healthier fingernails.
