i just dropped a new 17.5hp engine into my tractor. all the mechanical stuff is hooked up and i just need to attach all the electrical. i got the ground wires attached, but im not sure where the other 4 wire go. my fault for not marking them before i disconnected them..... i need a diagram that shows where everything plugs in.

if i plug something into the wrong place, will anything bad happen, or nothing at all? i have an electronic carb, if that makes a difference.

they have a site on line, maybe on your new engine.paper work there a web site for diagrams?
if all else fails , ask your local service cent re, and don't just hope for the best , not worth a new engine eh?

From the briggs engine, red wire is the charging system, the orange wire is the lighting system, the black wire is from the ignition unit. The red goes to position A1 on the ignition switch, the orange to position A2 and the black to position M.
