One of my candles keeps guttering out from the melted wax overflowing on the wick. The candle is only 1/3 of the way done burning, so it's still got a long life ahead (hopefully). How do I extend the wick so it will stop doing this?

I will be painting my grandmother's living room soon. She has old fake wood paneling that is textured, with "grain" and grooves between. I have already primed and will be painting with latex paint. However, due to the texture, should I use satin or semi-gloss finish? There are no imperfections and wall panel is in good shape. Is it better to use semigloss for the light reflection or will that make the texture stand out too much. I am not looking to hide the texture, but don't want wall to be too dull.

Any suggestions?

Last night my son flushed some baby wipes down the toilet, it totally overflowed all over the floor and then went down slowly. I thought that since it had gone down it may be alright, so a couple hours later I tried it again. All over the floor once again. So I've left it alone since last night and the water has not gone down, it's sitting right at the top of the bowl. I tried bailing it out, but as fast as I bailed it out, it filled right back up, all the way to the top. Why is it filling back up? My boyfriend is buying a plunger on his way home from work, so we'll try that, but I also heard about pouring dishsoap in it, allowing it to sit and pouring warm water in it, I was going to try this and see if it helped, which is why I was trying to bail it out. Anyone know why it is filling back up, and what I should do? Thanks in advance for the help!

I have wood paneling in a bedroom and it has been painted over with blue paint, so it just looks hideous. How can I take it down, and how difficult and expensive will it be to put up new sheetrock?

I forgot to mention the fact that the builder also installed an automatic sprinkler system. This I believe will preclude any deep soaking as has been suggested. What kind or brand of fertilizer is recommended?

I am fixing up my house and want some ideas of what to do with my lawn. I don't want grass anymore (can't add a good sprinker system because of the layout) and I was thinking of either bark dust or something else. If you know of a good website for this, I would appreciate it.

does anyone know what to use to support kitchen cabinets. we have a granite counter top and a deep kitchen sink, and we would like to support the cabinets under the sink as a safe measure. let me see if i can describe what i am looking for: its a metal rod in another metal rod. it would go from the floor to the bottom of the sink. it would adjust be either screwing it or unscrewing it. does anyone know what these are actually called as i would like to go to home depot or lowes to pick them up today. thanks.
