The PVC drain line from my upstairs toilet is leaking. I have found the leak and it is coming from a fitting that connects two different pipes. How would I fix this? Is there any way to do it without cutting the PVC or should I just call a plumber?

If I flush my toilet it overflows and even if I plunge it, it doesn't go down. I think my kids flushed something and it's stuck in the pipes. I can't afford a plumber so how long do you think I can crap in the toilet and not flush till it starts stinking up my apt? Either that or where I can buy a plumbers snake and how much it will cost me.

Their is something in the walls of the house I rent, I heard it yesterday and it is worse today. I was going to have someone come out today but found someone to do it cheaper tomorrow. It's really scary and I'm scared when my husband's not home because it moves around ALOT! Am I out the cost or is the landlord responsible to reimburse?

In the time since i bought it,and place it in the hole still root bound we had a cold snap for a week. It ran out the cold spell well, but since it got warm, has lost all color, the leaves are shriveled...the branches are still flexible. Is it possible all this is due to the plant being root-bound

Ok, I bought 2 rose bushes the other day. They are hybrid tea roses. I haven't planted them yet. I was wondering does the soil need anything special for them to grow. I bought some Miracle Grow Garden soil to mix in with the soil that is already outside. How much mulch should I put around them? I read that you should put 3 inches of mulch on top of them. I asked the lady at the green house about them and she told me to just plant them in any soil and to fertilize them every two week and they should be fine. I bought the Miracle Grow for Roses. Also I live in Wisconsin, so I was wondering what do I need to do before winter to protect them? Since the temp. sometimes drop to 20 below or colder at times at night. I have never tried to grow roses before but decided to this year since I like them so much. Any help would be appreciated.

We are doing some major renovations soon and I am considering installing a rectangular skylight in the kitchen and one of those new circular tube ones in the bathroom. They look cool and it would be nice to get in more natural light. I have heard stories about them leaking. I want to make sure they are not more bother then they are worth. Is it really expensive? Would it be advisable to have them installed now, while the workers are putting in the new roof?
Thanks

The inside is in great condition: a few hairline scratches.
The edge is in decent condtion: 3 chips in the porcelain, only one of which goes down to the metal.
The outside is painted black but it's wearing off.

Does anyone know a good way to prevent Japanese beetles from eating my rose bushes, or a good method of at least making them less apt (and willing) to do so? Every summer I have to remove them daily or else I have practically bare rose bushes. If you have ever dealt with this beetle, you know it is a tenacious little booger who will grip onto your plant practically unto its own death. :P
