If I flush my toilet it overflows and even if I plunge it, it doesn't go down. I think my kids flushed something and it's stuck in the pipes. I can't afford a plumber so how long do you think I can crap in the toilet and not flush till it starts stinking up my apt? Either that or where I can buy a plumbers snake and how much it will cost me.

Give it overnight. If it's biological, it'll soften. If it's not, you can get a drain snake at Lowes pretty cheap, but my experience is that the cheaper they are (i.e., a coat hanger) the less they perform. Well I have news for you Dear: A snake is no insurance your going to free the plug.
Turn all the water to the toilet off then take a small mirror and see if you can see the object, just maybe you'll be lucky and be able to fish the object out with a wire.

Continued plunging can and may blow the seal causing more problems and more expenses.
