It has nothing to do with being clean or not being clean. This is a myth. Most of the time they come in to get out of the weather or even search for water. I suggest you try to find out what they are first and maybe find a spray that is safe to use around children. You can also use hairspray when you see them. Just don't have your baby crawling around those areas when you spray. I am sure it will be fine.

As many said, you need to figure out what they are and what's bringing them in...however, here's how you do that. If you can describe them perfectly, or get a picture, send it into this site: http://www.whatsthatbug.com/ or even search through the site for more information. One thing you can do in the meantime is find a baby safe/family safe bug repellent, like Off's family stuff or Avon's Bug Guard Plus with Picaridin (it's deet free and safe for even babies). You can use it daily, just be sure to wash anything you put on, off every day. For a baby, make sure you do not apply to the hands and wrists, or the feet, since these are always in the mouth. :-)

To go along with 2girlsmo answer, my husband hates spiders getting into the house he goes to Lowes gets a bug spray that he uses outside the house along the foundation. it seems to help a lot. Try to find out where the bugs are coming in at in your house get a bug spray and spray the bugs. Just have plenty of air flowing when using products like bug spray.

It depends what they are. Do they have 6 or 8 legs? what colour are they? My favourite is a bug-prevention spray. You spray it around your door and windows where bugs get in and it works like a charm. It's called "Bug Stop", you can get it at the hardware store. If you don't think this will work, I would take a picture of the bugs, take the picture to a hardware store, and ask them what kind of spray you can get to PREVENT those bugs.

are they gnats?? gnats are little tiny, black, flying bugs.

if so, do you have bananas or other fruit out on the counter? for some reason gnats invade my house almost every time I bring bananas home.

they're harmless, so relax...but they are super annoying. try keeping your fruit in the refrigerator or a closed paper bag.

you also might need to make sure your trash is empty and that the inside of your trash cans is clean. sometimes the juices and stuff that gets stuck at the bottom of the trash can attracts bugs. every couple of times i empty the trash, i mist a little bleach down in the cans, and then i clean them out really good when they need it or every couple of months. that seems to help.

Your best bet is to try and find their entry point. If they are really tiny it could be anywhere. But if you find them in one spot more frequently check around there. Gaps between screens, resently opened windows, etc.

Once you identify the area use a product like Ortho Home defence to spray all around the area. It acts like a chemical fence that most bugs cannot cross.

You have to know what they are and what their source is before you can get rid of them. The only way to do this is to get an exterminator. You can also try to identify them through the internet. There are lots of tiny little things that are generated through grains, pot pourri mixes, carpets and clothing. Put your dead ones in a jar or bag and show them to the exterminator.

I answered a question similar to yours a few days ago. Please take a look at the link... it was chosen as best answer.

(I have kids too. and what the person above me said about keeping your house clean is TOTALLY true. You HAVE to become a neat freak or else you'll have bugs forever.)

After you kill them with pesticide...try keeping your house clean.
No food left out.
No eating in bed...etc...

We have NEVER had ANY bugs in our house because we are clean.
