There are many Construction adhesives that will do this. Otherwise you could use Tapcon masonary anchors. You will need to purchase the drill bit that corresponds with the size Tapcon you use. Sold at hardware and Home Centers.

You have three options:

1) You can use a number of adhesives to do the job but you may run in to a problem in the long run with the adhesive coming apart if it is moist or wet. Plus I once ran into the problem of the adhesive breaking the concrete apart, but that depends on what the wood is being used for...

2) Concrete Nailer:
-Porta-Nailer 460 5/8-Inch to 2-1/8-Inch T-Nailer for Wood to Concrete/Steel Applications
- Bostitch MIII812CNCT Industrial Concrete Nailer

Although I have found Hilti to be the best and the most durable. you have three choices here.
-Powder Actuated System
-Pneumatic System
-Gas System
(check it out here- http://www.us.hilti.com/holus/modules/prcat/prca_navigation.jsp?OID=-11803)

3) Your third option is the drill through the wood into the concrete floor with a steel bit, using a hammer drill (Hilti also supplies this) Then you would have to place a concrete fastener in and fasten the wood down. (Keep in mind: the fastener will not be flush to the surface of the wood due the the washer and bolt you will be fastening it with.) You can get these at any hardware store.

Hope this helped

Hi, You'll need a good 1/2 inch drill, a masonry bit, some masonry anchors, a little bit of water, a pencil, some contact glue, or chalking, and of course the handy dandy tape measure. First mark the place your going to put it, and mark the spots your going to drill. Both on the wood and the floor. Then drill your hole according to the manufacturer of the anchors. . drill into the concrete and while you're drilling, pour a little water on the hole and bit. That keeps the bit from burning up,keeping it sharp. Then insert your anchors, next drill your pilot holes into the wood. Put some glue on both surfaces, and screw into the anchors. The end .Bye

It depends on why you want to adhere to wood to the concrete. Is it structural? If so, go with the Tapcon screws or bolts. If not, you can use Liquid Nails Heavy Duty construction adhesive or Gorilla Glue.

You can use tapcon screws with a good adhesive and it will never come up. You should consider laying plastic so the moisture from the concrete does not rot the wood.

I use a 3/16 masonry bit.Drill the hole through the board and concrete as far as it will go.Then take a single piece of electrical wire coated about 4 inches long. Stick it in the hole and pound in a 16d nail. You will be surprised how well this works.

Hardened concrete nails will work, powder actuated nailers are nice, TapCon screws work nice. While working in the telecommunications field we used drive pins. Drill a 1/4" hole and slide the pin in and hammer it down. Easier than hammering nails in concrete, quieter than powder actuation. They held really nice. You can find them at any hardware store.
