i was just going to stain the outside of a 1x pine tongue and groove ceiling im installing. I was told i need to stain both sides to prevent warpage . do i really need to do that.?....much easier just to do the out side thanks.

Stain does not seal wood. It merely colors it. If you are going to seal the wood later, I would do both sides now, before installing. You would not need to stain both sides but seal both or none at all.

yes, to prevent moisture from getting in the boards and making them expand, swell up, or warp. or all of those. I have schalacked them(cant spell that). i wouldnt use stain, u want to keep that nice pine look, use polyurathane(cant spell that either) i have done it so many times, and it stays in nice condition, and looks very nice.
