I need to move my bedroom t.v. up off the dresser so that I can see the screen (tall footboard). It is an older house and I don't want to use the metal TV wall mount. I would like to build a wood shelf set in to the studs but I am not sure if this would be able to carry the load of a 30" t.v. If this is possible, any sugestions on how?

It is a 1980 Matag built in dishwasher. We figured out the hook up for the wireing and to fill the water. but I can't figure out where the draining hose goes or attaches to. Yes I know it is old but it is in perfect working condition.
