Several good thoughts already, first make sure cool air is coming out of the vent into the room. If not, go close several vents closest to the cooling unit to see if air comes out. If you still can't get air and the vent is open, could be it's become disconneted from the rest of the system or there's some blockage. I suspect though you'll have to adjust the vents in the rest of the house, to balance the system; start by reducing the flow several rooms, not close them off, just reduce the flow. Close them off if reduction still doesn't work.

Also is your room more prone to daytime heating? If so, try insulated drapes to keep the heat out. Watch electronic use, computers, lamps, TVs etc all add heat.

It would be nice if you had extra insulation in the walls, ceiling and floor, but that's probably not practical.

AC does not want windows open, it lessens the efficiency of the system. Evaporative air coolers do need to have a window open, a smidgeon, in the room to allow air out.

I agree with the last answer a air return would pull out more of the hot air and help the room cool. Also if you have sliding glass doors they might be letting in alot of excess heat.

based on the fashions of the 360 and television, the final public of your warmth ought to be coming from the two one in each and every of those. I even have an older sort 360 and what i've got got here upon that works ultimate for it somewhat is putting a tiny fan precise at the back of the backside of the console on the floor via fact it somewhat is the section that generates the main warmth on those xbox fashions. The fan reduces the warmth by just about one hundred% on a similar time as on the comparable time combating that dreaded "ring of dying" project. based on the region of your television, this which potential is it fixed on the wall or on a stand. If it somewhat is fixed on a wall, there is not any longer plenty you could actually do via fact each and all of the warmth generated is interior the back of the television and there is not any thank you to relax it down. yet while it somewhat is on a stand, one can have a much better possibility at lowering warmth by letting the television itself have extra respiratory room.

Have you tried a fan? My huspand and I have the same problem in our bedroom...we closed all vents in the house and made sure our vent was open...nothing worked so we went out and bought a fan.It doesn't have to be a big expensive one just one big enough to put out some nice air!

thats sounds kinda odd, check the vents to make sure there is nothing blocking air flow to your bedroom, and maybe you can shut off other vents in the house that you don't need to be cooler at night so it directs the air to your bedroom vent, thats all I can think of right now.

I don't really see any incorrect answers and/or suggestions, but I think a return air drop in the room is the best.

you might want to find out where your return is. it may be to far away to draw the air out of the bedroom.
