I would like to grow some herbs like basil or rosemary in some tin pots, the small ones for the kitchen counter, but I am worried the plants are going to rot, since there aren t any holes underneath the pots for the water to drain..could that happen?is there a way to avoid that? and does anyone know if herbs grow all the year around?

talkin bout guaranteed analysis for plant fertilizer. If you increase or decrease the amounts of each do you just multiply the numbers or does - say 3 tsp of 0-5-4 just make a stronger 0-5-4

I need ideas for some color and decorating schemes and ideas for my new home. I love sage green, yellow, tan and brown but I'm starting to feel like those are the only colors that will be in my house! I want more variety. What do you think about a color scheme for each room?? I don't know. If anyone has any suggestions/ideas/etc. I would really appreciate it!!! Thanks everyone!! :)

I have 2 small dogs that seems to have urinated on my bedroom floor. I removed the carpet and padding but the wood under the carpet has absorbed the odor and nothing I try will work. I need to clean it before putting down new flooring.

I live in St. Louis, MO. I'm looking for a fast growing, low maintenance, nice looking ground cover for my steep incline front yard. I already have ivy growing up a very large shade tree in the front yard. I would like something that looks good year-round.

I'm looking to re-decorate my bedroom and I want to use a beach insipired theme. The problem that I have is that I just recently bought a dark turquoise comforter and I want to use it. Do you have any advice on how to make it blend into a beach theme? (I plan to use shells and creamy-beige colors) .

We plan to take the baseboards off when we put the flooring down. We hoped to install the baseboard to hide the gap, and were led to believe that this would work by the salesman and did not order quarter round. However, now I'm thinking that the gap we have to leave may be bigger than the thickness of the baseboards.

Is that what determines it - if I leave a gap bigger than the baseboard I'm in trouble, but if it is smaller we'll be fine?

Thanks!

I live in Missouri, the southwestern part and I have been told that lemon trees don't grow here. So I was wondering if I could plant one in a bucket or something? Or how could I start one in a bucket and then how to keep it producing fruit after transplanting it to the ground.

Hi,

We have a really bad rabbit problem in our neighborhood. I know that our neighborhood rabbits love marigolds so we won't plant them. Does anyone know if rabbits like petunias?

Any suggestions on how to keep the rabbits away?

Thanks.

Glasses washed in our disk washer develop a haze (or etching) on them over a relatively small amount of time. In AZ, we have hard water but we have a water softener. Dish washer appears to be "staining" glasses. Dish washer is a Bosch (doubt that matters)

I have had my house for ten years and along the garage I have a bamboo plant that I have tried everything to kill it off. Roundup, digging it out, gasoline, etc. does not work. Does anyone have a way to rid this pestering plant in any way. It continues to spread into the yard and is the toughest plant I have ever met to erradicate.
