I'm looking to re-decorate my bedroom and I want to use a beach insipired theme. The problem that I have is that I just recently bought a dark turquoise comforter and I want to use it. Do you have any advice on how to make it blend into a beach theme? (I plan to use shells and creamy-beige colors) .

Use sand colored carpet, sky blue walls [ maybe with clouds ].
Add beach towel curtains. Sea shells on mirror, picture frames, and perhaps in a decorative lamp or on the shade.
A beach umbrella, a kite hung from the ceiling [ and maybe a seagull?]
Make an old picnic hamper or cooler into a nightstand.
Get a big tan rug and turn it into a raft with black or brown fabric paint.

Throw on some sand colored and deep brown colored pillows. Some deep brown accents and a throw at the bottom of the bed in sand along with your shells and other accessories. I did it and its beautiful!

you could paint your walls a nude color and add a ocean themed border the water from the border would blend in with comforter. you could also try different colored throw pillows to accent the blue.
