I have had my house for ten years and along the garage I have a bamboo plant that I have tried everything to kill it off. Roundup, digging it out, gasoline, etc. does not work. Does anyone have a way to rid this pestering plant in any way. It continues to spread into the yard and is the toughest plant I have ever met to erradicate.

I think bamboo tree gives a nice look to the garden, but if it gets too large then that is a problem. Cut the surrounding bamboo tree trunks and keep the inner.

Careful, I am not sure whether it is true or not but I heard in bamboo trees, ususally snakes likes to live there.

I'd say hire a panda bear, but I don't know where to get one. Plus that's a ridiculous answer.

Try digging out the plant and get all of it's roots out of the ground.

The only way is to run it out of energy. Chop it down to six inches then run your lawn mower over it. When it gets back to six inches again run the mower over it again.

Do not let the leaves form as that is how it gets its energy.

This will take an entire season to accomplish maybe two, depending on how mature it is.

If all else fails go with Triox. It kills the soil for three years. NOTHING will grow.

i think you have to dig a little deeper and wider to remove ALL the roots of the bamboo.
