Never heard of that reason. Leveling is to keep the oil and freon in the compressor at the correct level inside.
You need to realize that with warmer air temps due to the season, there is also more humidity in the air. This can cause ice to form if the doors are kept open too long.

It could be. If you did leave the freezer or fridge doors open you're freezer would just work harder and try to keep up so it would frost over the edges. Try making it level and see what the setting is on ur freezer it may be to high.

The answer to your question is "NO!"
Your problem is in the settings of the freezer and refrigerator sections. Take your manual out and make sure that the thermostats in both sections are set correctly and don't block the air communication channel between the sections with any food items. If this does not correct the problem, your system may be either low on refrigerant or a fan may be idle.

I don't think so, You probably just have it set to cold, adjust the freezer and fridge to a medium temp range for each and see if that doesn't help. Also make sure your vents are clean under and around and in back of the fridge, if it is blocked or dirty it will cause it to ice up. Good luck

usually the cause of this problem is an air leak on your doors and or an unsealed door. or as some people do they set the temp controls on freezer and refridge to maximum and neither gets enough air. also your fan may be on the fritz. Set your controls to the center after defrosting the freezer. Then try it again.

Your freezer is too full or it's blocked the cooling unit with freezer items. Let it breathe.
Being level or not doesn't matter....only in the case of letting your fridge door close by itself.

it could cause the water to pool and freeze. but i doubt it. same with a blocked drain hose. if the water cant get out, but in that case most of the time the bottom of the frig will fill with water. is the fan in the freezer running? a stopped fan will cause it to freeze.
defrost timer switch will cause it to freeze.
bad heater elements will cause it too.

Mine was frosting up and my dad came over and found out that the drain was plugged. We completely cleaned it out and it's been working great ever since.
