I find that in order to be a smart consumer lots of time must be taken to source deals, use coupons, etc. Since working people don't always have the time to do this do you have any tips or website links that you find useful? Thanks

I have a floor that needs to be carpeted. It is concrete on bottom with cheap carpet layed over that. I do not think I can pull the old carpet up because it appears to be glued down.
Would laying plywood sheets over the previously carpeted slab, then the padding and carpet work?

Does anyone know of a free deck design software that I can use over the net? I bought a pool last summer, and would love to design my own deck.

I have wallpaper that I need off the walls, and ive got most of it off. However, there is a few spots that will not come off. I heard somewhere that fabric softner will work? I'm going to try that.
What else works?

I'm really freaked out because my bathroom door is stalking my next door neighbor. I noticed it was missing this morning, and when I looked out the window it was running around in my neighbor's back yard. It fell into her pool earlier and I had to go save it (doors can't swim). But it's just back and stalking her more. I think it's angry because my neighbor didn't give it a new fredsmudge like it wanted. I'm really nervous, because my door asked for a new klebspoop for its birthday, and if I don't get it for it will steal my couch! Please tell me what I should do about this mischievous door.

I bought our house a little more than 4 years ago. There is a park close by, a nice back yard. My older child, who is not mean a child - he is really respectful and polite, sometimes tells me that he does not like our house. I ask him why and he has no specific answer to this question.

Now, I am coming to dislike it as well. I wish I could sell it and buy another one but I can't right now.

I guess I will have to deal with what I have for now.

We 3 have our separate bedrooms. It's a decent size, I started to put up pictures of us on the walls, I made a garden last year, I have painted their bedrooms with nice colors and had them print their hands with a different color of paint on the walls...

My question is:
With a really small budget, any tips on how can I make it better for the 3 of us? (not just for the kids... for the mom too!)

Thanks!

It's an oily/smoky smell. The water heater isn't really working well and we have someone coming out to look at it on Tuesday. It started to stink today, though. Is this dangerous? Should I be more worried about it than I am?

I have four cats; two of them are long haired. Nothing I have tried thus far gets rid of the fur on everything. I have tried vacuuming, which doesn't work on drapes, washing in washing machine, which doesn't get rid of all the fur, and tape, which is too time consuming and not feasable to use over the entire house. Any new ideas or tricks you know of?
