That question has a two part answer, depending on whether or not you are going to do some of the work yourself. I know that most people think they can't do it, but all of our homeowners are extremely happy with their pools and how easy it was to install it - plus, you know a whole heck of a lot more about the pool if you helped install it.
Cost of the pool depends on how much the kit price is and how much it costs you to install it - you can spend anywhere from 5k to 17k on our site for a kit which includes everything you need.
Once it gets to you is the second part of the cost - these are some of the things that may cost you if you have to hire people to do them:
Excavating
Concrete
Plumbing
Electrical
If you have expertise in any of these areas, it is possible that you could avoid the additional expense - if not, then you'll have to contract them out.
Most of the time, we tell the homeowners to double the cost of the kit from us and that is a pretty good ballpark figure on how much their total cost will be.
Come check out the site at http://www.diypools.com and give us a call if you have any questions!

This is a very open ended question. Where I live, you can get a plain "cookie cutter" pool for about 20K. The more features you add - tile, water fall, lights - then it starts adding up. Also if you design your own pool shape, depth, etc. you will need to hire an engineer to draw up the plans for your pool. Most pool contractors can do this of course, but again you will pay for it. If you have a pool in mind that doesn't fit any of the builders existing plans - you could easily spend 40K - 80K. And then be prepared for you electric bill to increase, plus the cost of maintenance. And the first water bill after you fill the pool!

I'd say a minimum of $15,000. More if you have a large pool or a deep end for diving. Also more if you have a large concrete apron around the pool. Add more if you need a dry well for a high water table, a pool vac or skimmer, a heater for the pool or solar cover. Also budget for chemicals and a jump in your electric bill to run the pump and lights.

It's very expensive and something you have too think about. JUts if you see one that can be put in for lets say $20,000 which is about average for a nice pool. Plus it really ranges depending on what you use to line it and what kind of stone you use around it and all of that. Plus dont forget about all the equipment that is needed. Like a skimmer and a pump and heater and little toys it really adds up on you and fast. Just make sure you have enough for all of that. It is also very expensive to heat it. Even in the summer. But they are the best thing ever and they are a ton and i mean a ton of fun in the hot summer days.
