Any consumer tips for working people?

Question

I find that in order to be a smart consumer lots of time must be taken to source deals, use coupons, etc. Since working people don't always have the time to do this do you have any tips or website links that you find useful? Thanks

Before purchase anything, use PriceGrabber.com to do comparsion shopping. Then use SearchAllDeals.com to find a bargain/coupon for the store/product/service. Also, try TheGroceryGame.com to lower your grocery bills by combining manufacturer coupons with in-store specials.

Look for items outdated "today" (whatever date that is).
I got a couple hunks of corned beef for $1.25 lb down from $2.97, , because it was nearly outdated & most people don't think to buy it beyond St. Patty's day. In my FREEZER, they are fresh for a year (but they'll be used long before that!!~)
I also grabbed some Tyson boneless/skinless chicken breast, marked down to half price---another one for the freezer. And a 3# roll of ground chuck expiring 2 days from now for $1.39 lb.

"Cherry pick" the stores in town.......go to one for their meat sales, one for produce, one for pantry staples. Doing this will save a lot more than coupons ever could.

You can even ask the meat department when their stuff goes on clearance....sometimes they are happy to share!

Have your doctor order your prescriptions twice as potent as needed and cut the pills in half. Don't buy bottled water. If you consider your domestic water distasteful put a filter on your kitchen faucet.

Shop for meat on Tuesdays. That's when they get marked down, after the weekend and before the case is restocked for the next weekend.

mine method is real simple. I dont buy it unless I need it. and I dont buy it unless its on sale. So if its on sale and I use it regulary, I buy enough until the next time it will go on sale.
I save LOTS that way
