I am redoing my kids' playroom and decided to tear out the carpet in favor of peel n stick tile so their toys roll easier etc. How hard is it to lay? Do I take the floorboards off first? Should I paint the walls first or do them last? The room is about 12x12, how long do you think it will take to lay the tile? Will I need any special tools to cut it? Should I start in the middle or along one wall? Thanks for any help!

Has anyone had success flipping houses? If so - what would you say are the most important (let’s say top 3) factors in:

1. Selecting the house.
2. Completing the job.

There is about 1-1/2 to 2" of top soil on top of driveway. If i remove dit, i hit gravel that was lay down a while back. The driveway is about 300' long and there is grass in between the 2 track. the challenges is that my wife like the grass in the middle, she think it's pretty, but the track get really muddy in the fall and spring. Can i scrape the dirt on the track only, lay down some landscape fabric and put limestone or gravel on top ??? or should i just scrape the whole thing down to the existing gravel and recover it with a new layer.... ???? How much can you cover with 1 yards....??? I found a deal where i can buy about 6 yards of limestone for $195.00..... any help will be appreciated...

I'm redoing my bathroom and I've chosen 3/16" spacers for floor and wall tiles. I'm going to be tiling the shower area and much of the non-shower (non wet) area with 6" tiles. I'm beginning to think that a 3/16" grout line is too large for the wet area. Is this a problem? Will the larger grout line leave more room for water to penetrate the grout? Will it look weird aesthetically if I go with 1/8 or something in the shower and 3/16 in the dryer areas?

Thanks for your opinions!

If so, what was your experience? I am moving out of my apartment in Colorado Springs (from the north-east end to the south-west end) and found this website. Would love to hear the stories...good and bad! Thanks!

I have a three level deck about 1200 sq ft total. I need to stain and seal my decks as I believe they never have been (just got the house). I was thinking about purchasing a sprayer to do it since its so much damn deck. I am seeing spots where green spots are forming and mud prints from the dogs are'nt washing off. What are the proper steps and recommended products to do this task? I greatly appreciate it. you can email me if you need me to elaborate.

If I want to erect 6ft fence (or the maximum legal limit), how will it work if my patio is raised? Do I measure from the patio up? With the garden, as the ground is lower, do I take my measurement from that? I have no problem with the height staggered, as long as ol' nosey next door cant see in and I need to get it right coz shes a right "do it by the book" kinda pain in backside. Plus I'm looking forward to asking her to remove that DREADFUL ivy thats climbed over my fence and eating into my wall!!!!
