There is about 1-1/2 to 2" of top soil on top of driveway. If i remove dit, i hit gravel that was lay down a while back. The driveway is about 300' long and there is grass in between the 2 track. the challenges is that my wife like the grass in the middle, she think it's pretty, but the track get really muddy in the fall and spring. Can i scrape the dirt on the track only, lay down some landscape fabric and put limestone or gravel on top ??? or should i just scrape the whole thing down to the existing gravel and recover it with a new layer.... ???? How much can you cover with 1 yards....??? I found a deal where i can buy about 6 yards of limestone for $195.00..... any help will be appreciated...

Scrape all the way down. Also gotta get rid of the source of water. Call a landscape company in your area and they'll provide a contact for you to call to buy more.

gravel on dirt will let in water & your vehicle will pound it into the dirt again.... you need 4 good inches ( 6 is better ) of road base ( limestone, chrused concrete, concrete washout from a concrete yard - cheapest ) & cover this with 1 1/2" of pea gravel - crown in center or standing water will soften ground & tires will punch through... with crown all water shed to awating swale beside drive & goes to ditch
