I agree with the rozen core for electric wire. The acid core is used for copper plumbing fixtures.

Never use acid core on electrical wire...Use 60/40 rosin core and use a good flux with it and you shouldn't have no problems....you might need to determine what size solder to buy....The bigger The wire the bigger diameter solder you use. a good 1/16th or 1/8th diameter wire can be use for wire as small as no awg # 30 to awg #4 or larger ...I personally never use anything except 1/8th diameter rosin core solder with and i solder wires from #24 to #8 on a daily basis

Rosin core is best, and the thickness of the solder depends on thickness of the wire you are soldering and the heat of your iron. I use .025 rosin core, the wires I solder are thin so they don't require much solder or too much heat.

get the flux also. dip the wire ends into it.. makes a nice solder flow

I use rosin. The size depends on how big the stuff you're soldering is. I do little circuits.
