we are remodelling our house and have removed vynal floors and carpeting. Not sure what to do with the baseboards - remove before installing tile or leave in place. If we remove them which will make it easier to install the tile (don't have to be perfect where it meets the wall), then where we have left the carpeting, the baseboards will not line up. Any suggestions from someone who's been there and done that????????

I have three rooms/areas (Wc [furthest point], Utility Room, and Kitchen) that require mechanical ventilation...

Is it acceptable, specifically from a Scottish regulations point of view, to connect these fans into the same 100mm duct or would this contaminate each of the rooms on the same line with smells/gasses from the other rooms?

Any replies would be very appreciated.

Thanks

yesterday afternoon opened my fridge to find it wasnt working but the freezer seemed fine. went in the kitchen that night the fridge was slightly chilled and motor was running. after i shut the door the motor stopped. checked it this morning still chilled but motor keeps coming on and off. is the motor faulty or is it something else. and if it the motor why's the freezer still working. please help. its just over 4yrs old and i've had it from new. a few weeks back it seemed slightly noisier than usual.

My husband and I are thinking about buying a house in Houston and not yet sure whether 1 story or 2-story house is better for us. We have a 15- month old baby and probably my parents would come to stay with us for some time.

At first I think 1 story is good because I don't have to worry about my baby and parents falling down the stairs. But the humidity and insects of Houston area bother me: would it be too damp in the summer to live on the first floor? Is there any other thing we need to look out-- such as adequate natural light, energy saving, mosquitos or even flood? What is the typical price difference between the two?

Anyone has his/her experience to share? We are new to the area and it's our first time to buy a house.Any input would be greatly appreciated!
