I have three rooms/areas (Wc [furthest point], Utility Room, and Kitchen) that require mechanical ventilation...

Is it acceptable, specifically from a Scottish regulations point of view, to connect these fans into the same 100mm duct or would this contaminate each of the rooms on the same line with smells/gasses from the other rooms?

Any replies would be very appreciated.

Thanks

You might be allowed to do this ( I was) if you fit an in-line fan beyond the branches, so that there is always neg. pressure in the ducts. This fan has to be connected so that it always runs when any other fan is used. I had to make up a box with relays, or you could use D.P. switches.

It is against UK regulations to a) have a door from the kitchen going directly to a WC and b) for them to share the same extractor duct.

The kitchen and utility can, however, share the same duct, but use a larger diameter (125mm) for the vent to outside. Splice the ducts to form a Y, with the larger duct being the tail and the smaller ones the cup (this will prevent "blowback" from one fan to the other). Remember to seal all joints completely to ensure good air-flow.

I particularly have accomplished so before and likely will income this again. no count number number how compatible 2 human beings are, they are in no way going to agree on each little thing. regardless of the truth that if both members of a pair percentage a common faith, they are likely to nonetheless have fairly diverse interpretations and critiques related to that faith. It does easily make it less complicated if both members of a pair agree on some common needed beliefs; It makes it more durable if both beliefs conflict in practice. A courting could be in line with openness and mutual recognize.

I think a fan must move 60 litres of air a min, to be of any use. so one fan for three rooms isn`t adequate
