Birds keeps coming and making nests under our carport on the rafters. They're pooping everywhere, including in my dogs' food and water. I knock down the nests but they keep coming back. Does anyone know a way that I get rid of these birds once and for all?

I don't know the exact measurements of what the fenced area would be because this is just a hypothetical question. We are looking at houses in Florida and hardly any of them have backyards, they just have open space. We have 2 kids who need a fenced in yard.

I would estimate that the fenced area would be equal to what most people consider to be a good sized back yard. Any advice on how hard it would be to erect a gate by ourselves and how expensive it would be? I'm totally clueless about this stuff! Any help would be appreciated!

When we purchased this cute house two years ago the owner claimed they did not have knowledge of any water leakage whatso ever... well they lied. We get a lot of snow and as of late the snow has been melting and on top of all the snow melting, It has been raining so much and now there is water seeping in from the south wall along the back of the house. We caulked it really good form the inside but water is still seeping in last night we had our 52in TV sitting in about a inch deep large diameter puddle. There is no water leaking anywhere else in the basement just that back wall...Hubby added plastic sheeting along the ground up against the house to try to prevent some of the water comming in but we are hoping that maybe if we get the back yard graded by adding a slope of extra dirt so that the water wil run away from the house that it might help. I am hoping there wil be a professional sifting through these questions.. help?

I have been told that it needs to be at least 65*F for 24 hours before the freon will flow freely enough to run the AC unit without hurting it. How true is this?

When it rains really hard (I live in Houston, Texas) my backyard gets 2-3 inches of STANDING water - I am not too worried now (until April/May) but even in December I had standing water. It literally takes days and days for it to dry up and then even still the ground is a bit soggy. I am wanting to create a garden (lanscaping) in the backyard and it is a fairly large backyard. I have checked BHG.com but I just haven't found the plan that fits our backyard.

I just need to know what options would be a good idea. Thanks a lot!

I accidentally knocked over a lava lamp two days ago onto the carpet and it doesn't seem to be drying. What kind of liquid is in there? It was the kind with glitter on the inside.
