My question is should I run my sand pump on filter or just circulate. I dont want the alge to get in the sand. Also the water is clear but the sides are green should I brush the side?

I am not really sure about pools. But I do know that when my dad has an issue with his pool. He calls the place he bought it from and normally they help him out with any concerns over the phone. That might be your best option. Because who would know the best. Some people on Yahoo answers or someone you know is a professional in that area. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I have a 21 foot above ground...and it's not 21 feet in the air (?), it's round... mine is frozen solid right now but I would shock it, let it run a day or 2 to kill the algae, add an anti-algae additive a day later and be done with it. Once it's all cycled through for a day or so after all this; give the sides a rub and the residue should come right off and float/cycle through the filter, suspended in the water. It's not really a problem getting it in the sand, that's what it's there for. The chemicals keep it in check and the sand filters the floating particles (even wee aglae powder)... or so I was told by my pool company.

You can shock the pool and let that work for about 24 hours then brush the sides if needed. Back flush every couple hours after brushing. After the pool has cleared up I would change the filter sand if you haven't done this in a couple month.

First purchase a chlorine attempting out kit and some algecide. you may likely get both extremely low-priced at a pool and spa shop. a million. Backwash your clear out (relying on the fashion of clear out you've, you may opt for to operate diatomasious earth, a white powder) 2. Use the attempting out kit to ascertain your chlorine and PH ranges. ascertain you save the water on the proper element. 3. study the guidelines on the algecide bottle and upload the proper ammount. Run you clear out for 40 8 hours and your water might want to sparkling up. If it doesn't completly sparkling up (or no matter if that is reallly eco-friendly) vaccum the pool after the 40 8 hours and upload extra algecide.

Why did you build your pool so high? Maybe you can rig a prefilter so snag the algae, some cloth over the intake.
