I've never heard them used together but if it helps I'll tell you what I know about cabinet pricing. I was priced custom cabinets @ 85 dollars a linear foot. I have 32 feet of wall. 14 ft long wall, 8 ft long wall, and a 10 foot long wall. 32feet x's 85.00 = 2720.00. I can't remember if that was for the wall cabinets or for the base cabinets but I'm sure it wasn't both!! I'm still not sure you can mix linear and square in the same foot!! When you think linear think "running" foot regardless of the dimensions. Good luck!

I'm sure they are referring to lineal foot measurement... you measure the entire width of your cabinets... and depending on what part of the country you live in... it's about 150.00 to 180.00 per lineal foot of cabinet, this price represents lowers and uppers together...of a decent quality product. There are higher and lower prices depending on the quality...
