I just patched up a 4"x4" hole by using a plug, but I'm hesitant to put the fiberglass tape around it before applying the joint compound. I'm worried that the tape will just add an additional indentation on the wall.

Before paint my baseboards, (wooden, preprimed) what should I use to fill the nail holes, caulk, wood putty, etc? When I caulk it, it seems to dry and shrink, then when I paint it, it sticks out.

When I turn on the lightswitch in my bedroom, three lightbulbs light up.
If I remove one of them, would I be saving energy?

I think that if I take one out, I would still be using the same amount of energy, but the only change would be a dimmer room.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I got my bathroom renovated and had the bath replaced with a shower. Im delighted with the results except for one thing: Over night a smell develops in the bathroom. Its coming from the shower. It smells like wet grass decomposing - vile. My bathroom is upstairs and I think it might be something to do with that. I don't think there is any drop on the pipe that takes the water away so some gets lodged and stays there going rancid until the next shower. The shower is used every morning and most evenings but not all. Has anyone got a solution for this, please? Something I could pour into the drain or something. Thanks.

I have two dogs and they love rolling on the ground. First, I need to use something to kill the just beginning to grow sticker (goat head) weeds-what is best? I have a huge yard! Then I want to plant a pretty ground cover (doesn't matter the color) that would withstand walking on and dogs playing on. Any suggestions?

Thanks

We have tried peanut butter, and sunflower seeds with a touch of vanilla essence without any luck.
Any other suggestions that might work?

Yeah I know, Christmas is over. But my poinsettia is still alive. I'm getting tired of looking at it on my kitchen counter. Will it live if I repot it and set it outside? I don't want it to die, I'd just rather see not see it on my counter anymore.

My house gets cold VERY quickly. I'm having someone come by to look at the insulation in the attic and was just wondering what I should expect. There's a layer of it blown above the ceiling but nothing under the rafters. Would it be helpful to put some on the rafters too? Or more blown above the ceiling?

Under the house, there is nothing. Would it help more to insulate the floor than add more to the ceiling?
